The preview looks promising. I actually enjoyed seeing Xiao Bai in human form together with TS instead of her staying in her shark form like in the novel.

It’s more relatable when she showed her reaction and how she was taken aback by TS’s successful sneak attack. And of course, she was partially the narrator here explaining the details of TS’s every action through her observation.

I also like that they make use of old characters to highlight how tyrannical Bibidong is. Not bad at all, looking forward to the climax next week!

P.S. Btw, I started a new donghua: Legend of Exorcism (Tianbao Fuyao Lu). Supposedly, this is now the top donghua in China in terms of popularity and quality. You should give it a try, storywise, it’s more interesting than Fanren but what I like the most is the main team/group just like Shrek Devils. Here they are more balanced in terms of ability and skills not like TS being leagues ahead of the rest. Oh, apparently it’s from a BL novel. Yes, I already see them building it up. 😉

Both are not perfect but I still think if we look at it from the story itself, LoE has more plots and twists from different characters while Fanren’s storyline is literally about how one guy cultivated to immortality. The plot expansion and development is quite linear while LoE is more branched out and diverse.
BUT Fanren is unbeatable in terms of presentation and execution. The donghua is just so well presented and well paced.

Now that you've put it that way, I'd say I have to agree on that point too. Though then I think Fanren does have many side stories in it too, eh, forget it, I'll go with you lol.

Apparently their skin is so hard and with their spirit power as a protective barrier, it’s difficult to penetrate even a normal whale but due to the burning liquid, it acts like a molten metal. All TS wanted was to drain the whale king’s mental power and he stands a bigger chance of fighting him when his mental power is depleted.

P.S. Just curious have you watched Tianbao Fuyao Lu? Looking for someone to discuss the plot. 😉

Unfortunately I haven’t watched Tianbao Fuyao Lu, although the plot summary sounds somewhat similar to Mo Dao Zu Shi whose 3rd season is on my list.

Not really. At least based on the novel, TS had to use his mental power to ascertain the weak point of the whale’s body before firing. The king whale probably has a tougher body and higher defence system.

Tianbao Fuyao Lu is nothing like MDZS. First, the latter is 2D while the other one is 3D. The producer of Tianbao is the same as Fanren so you can trust they have a certain standard. Tianbao is action packed, more like a Chinese ghostbuster team but much more sophisticated and powerful, while MDZS has quite a complex morality and cultivation setting. The only thing that’s the same is the BL setting. I just finished Season 2, there’s no BL scene yet, just lots of action and fantastic fights. Gogoanime has it, do watch it and we can rant about it.

Damn TS is cruel, the way he picked off those tiger whales one by one in secret while they go stir crazy from an enemy they can't see nor find with any of their senses lol. He killed 70 of them too, gah damn, he almost took out half of their group just by himself!! His hidden weapons are indeed ingenious and deadly, they should be banned aha, no way you'd want to have an enemy like him smh.

But I was going to say how impressed Bai was by TS and getting wet behind her fins (lol) but they were already in water, an ocean I think, so she been WET ahaha.

Nice ep. The stalking Tang San did here took hours in the novel. Thats why he said theres 70s of them killed in the end. The enemies were getting exhausted from marching/searching and being on alert mode this whole as well. Plus the normal tige whales were getting scared too by now.

lowkey same, i have been watching this for a year coz my dad reccomended it to me as he was reading the manhua so like yeah, ngl its somewhat different from the novel and the manhua itself some plots were changed but the storyline is still there, lowkey want more since they stopped making the manhua for a while and the novel is already finished, im more of a watcher than a reader thats why it takes me really long to finish this.

Can't wait for next episode.
